Mariel approaches therapy from a collaborative, person-centered lens. She believes you are the expert in your own life and she will take the time to find therapeutic techniques that will be the most helpful to you as an individual. She works with you to build a strong, trusting relationship and she celebrates all intersecting identities.
Mariel is a graduate of Roosevelt University where she received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology Counseling Practice and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has specialized training and experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma related to relationships. Her previous work in a university setting has given her unique perspectives into the challenges of many young adults and has given her the skills to help clients through life transitions. Her other interests include self-esteem, body image, trauma, and identity concerns.
Mariel is a big fan of running and spending time along the lakefront, preferably with dogs.
